Nothing Phone (2) Unveils a New Update Focused on Camera Enhancements

August 05, 2023

Barely a few weeks since its first update, the Nothing Phone (2) is receiving yet another revision, labeled as Nothing OS 2.0.2. This update primarily centers around numerous camera amenities, continuing from where its predecessor left off in mid-July.

The extensive list of improvements includes enhancements in photo clarity in 50 MP mode, increased stability and contrast when recording videos, elevated photo quality in low-light conditions, polished contrast, necessary bokeh refinements, optimized facial clarity in Portrait Mode, and a quickened HDR processing speed.

The selfie camera also benefits from this update with ameliorated photo clarity, superior quality in low light, and accelerated HDR processing.

The update introduces several new features, such as auto-shutdown of apps when the phone exceeds its temperature limit, a polished out-of-battery visual when the phone is turned off, and unique icons for each Nothing audio product within the volume control panel.

Additionally, the July 2023 security patches, enhanced haptic feedback strength during typing, touchscreen responsiveness improvement, better network reliability across “multiple global carriers”, HDR gaming performance optimization, and an overall boost in system stability, are all part of the update.

Several issues, including ones linked to Dirac Audio, Google Wallet, and Bluetooth Quick Settings, have been rectified. A problem causing the ‘double tap to wake’ feature to be unresponsive has also been fixed, alongside “other general bug fixes”.

To install the update on your Nothing Phone (2), proceed to Settings > System > System Update.
